Open Question: Irregular periods and fertility?

So like a lot of women it used to be normal for me to miss a monthly period. But now it's been since November. So after this month, I'll have to go to a doctor. I'll be asking this question there, but until then, I was wondering if irregular periods have anything to do with your fertility. I don't want kids, but I'm curious. And when I do go, it'll be my first time going to a gynecologist. I can admit to being nervous about that. Is there anything I should know about it? What was your first time going to a gyno like?

so i'm 14 and i kinda want to have my first trip to the gynecologist.i don't want to start having sex,but i want birthcontrol.the only reason is b/c my periods are really heavy and i cramp really bad almost everyday i'm on it.sometimes midol and stuff helps but sumtimes it doesn't...so it wud b nice to not have 2 put up with it as often.how do i tell my mom every this?i rlly just want the brithcontrol so i dont hav 2 put up with my period and the crampin as much....or shud i just learn to deal with it?and if she takes me what should i tell the doctor?and what should i expect?

Open Question: What happens when you go to planned parenthood for the first time?

I am 16 years old. I still go to a pediatrician where my mom goes inside the doctors with me and everything. I basically never been to a gynecologist . Well tomorrow I am going to planned parenthood with a pal. Friday I had unprotected sex and my pal told me to go to planned parent hood to receive tested, look if they could receive me a plan b and to go on birth control. I couldnt receive a plan b this weekened because you have to be 17 to buy it from the store and unfortuanatly i was out of luck and i have to wait untill monday after school . So my questions are if i go will I have to pay money and how much ? what will the process I have to go through be like and if I go will I have to tell my mom later on? Im just really nervous and scared ... Dont say anything like you shouldnt have sex because your not ready when obviously .. iknow that already. Unfortunatly things just happen.

Open Question: Mini Pill vs. Low Estrogen Pills?

I have bad migraines & my Gynecologist kept telling me there were no pills I could take but I just seen a Neurologist last week & she suggested I could take the mini pill or low estrogen containing pills that have the same dose of estrogen for the entire time. I wanted to look if any of you have ever been on either nice of pill, how was your period & what was the effectiveness?

Open Question: What Do You Think Of My Stand-Up lines?

Hello everybody! Most comedians will start the show by saying Hows everybody doing! followed by asking everybody if their ready to giggle or something like that. I always think to myself the people that scream Yes! must be darn optimistic, not like me of course. I actually attempted to create comedy insurance, that way I could receive get my money back after watching a show that felt more like a wedding. Im not a big fan of weddings, they just remind me how lonely I am. that's why I spend most my time internet dating, I do most of that on twitter. I followed a girl once, it ended with me getting a restraining order. I have a few other tricks up my sleeve, I sometimes carry a cane around with me, it makes me look like doctor home. This lets me walk into hospitals and say to the women there, ''hey, im a gynecologist'' of course im not qualified to do this, and I suspect this resulted in quite a few unexpected deaths. I needed therapy as a child, apparently I have a repressed memory. They say I murdered a therapist. I also tried to do a stand up show recently, but apparently you can only have two people on jail visitation days. Im writing my possess self-help book. I discovered how to receive wealthy quick using only three items, a gun, a balaclava and a quick car. When I was young, I was quite the history buff, me and my friends would do role play games, our favourite was FRENCH MILITARY. Well I think it was our favourite, I would ask them but obviously they every died. We actually had to hire a sweatshop to sow us enough white flags. My favourite board game is monopoly, I actually hate playing it, but the money works great on the old people at supermarkets. So... thank you for reading, I understand this was probably quite bad, but it is my first try. thank you.

Open Question: How old should you be to see a gynecologist?

So this isnt like a "I need to look one but i dont know if i'm to young!" question. I serisouly just wanna know. Is there any set age thats good to receive a check up with a gynecologist? Cause I've never been to one and I'm 14. I'm just wondering if I still have a ways to go before going to look one or if I should already just to make sure everything is fine :P

Open Question: can gyno's see pregnancies right away on an ultra sound?

For non-pregnancy reasons, I recently had an ultra sound done. Everything was fine with my ovaries (what the ultrasound was for). Now a couple weeks later, I think I may be pregnant. At the time of my ultrasound, I would have only been about a week pregnant. So would my gynecologist have been able to tell? Now I'm almost 2 weeks tardy with my period and have NO signs of it coming, so I'm thinking I need to go back and look if I could be pregnant. But we he have been able to tell before?

Open Question: Has anyone used Clindamycin to treat BV?

I was diagnosed with Bacterial Vaginosis on Friday and my gynecologist gave me Clindamycin 300mg to take 3 times a day for a week. I'm on my second day of it now. He said it can cause some diarrhea, but yogurt or probiotics could help that. My question is.... has anyone else used this before? Did you experience a lot of side effects? Did it help clear up your infection?

Open Question: Why does this keep happening?

So awhile ago I noticed that there was clear discharge (clear like water) coming out from my left nipple when I squeeze it. This does not happen on the right. I went to the gynecologist for it and she sent me for blood test to check my hormones and a ultrasound to make sure I didn't have a tumor or anything else wrong. Everything was fine. Now I just noticed it is coming back. AND I AM NOT PREGNANT. What is it and why does it keep happening?

Resolved Question: No sex, could i be pregnant?!? Please help im SCARED!!! :(?

I was fingered with (maybe?) Precum on my boyfriends finger. He said there was nothing on it, and that he even wiped it off just to be sure before fingering me. 5 days later I started bleeding, then the flow got extremely heavy and lasted for two weeks, then my gynecologist put me on birth control, saying she sees these irregular periods in 15 year old girls every the time, but I didn't tell her id been fingered. Then, I got my period on the first month of placebo pills in my birth control pack, like I was supposed to. Could i have my period on birth control (low ogestrel 28) even if i were pregnant? Open Question: Am i pregnant if i didnt have sex?

I ended up getting my period around 18 or 19 days tardy but the thing is I only got it two days ago and its already coming to an end.. Yes there were clots and a few gushes and I felt bloated and crampy in the beginning but not anymore.. And now I'm getting rib cage pain and I keep on burping. The most I did in December was sit on my bfs lap while he had a boner but we were both fully clothed (4 layers of clothing) anyways my periods usually last at least 4 or 5 days and usually the first two days its heavy but it wasn't as heavy as it usually is on the second day.. efore you tell me to go to a gyno, I've been tested negative...I'm a virgin...and yesterday I was in the car with a guy, I was wearing tight jeans, and a thong...but it wasn't cotton...it was nylon. I wore those because he loves thongs. I was wet in the car with him for almost 2 and a half hours, and he was rubbing me constantly. Since I'm a virgin I kept telling him not to do it and he kept asking me what the reason was, why i was so afraid, and he kept doing it. When he took his hand out I noticed there was this musty musky odor coming from down there...he sniffed his fingers and put them in my face and asked me to lick it off. I asked him if he liked the odor and he said yeah, but I think he was being sarcastic and didn't want to hurt me...It was a very awkward night, I don't want him to think I'm dirty and that I have an infection or something =( it makes me feel dead inside...I even went to the emergency psych ward because I almost killed myself over it. I'm 23 by the way....IDK if it smelled like that because it's supposed to...like...the more aroused you receive...or because it's been sweating down there after those hours...idk....

Open Question: Lo loestrin fe switching to Loestrin 24 birth control?

I was on Lo loestrin fe for 3 months and did not receive my period with this birth control. When I went in for a followup with my gynecologist, I asked to be switched to something that would give me my periods because it made me nervous every of the time. In our conversation her words were, "I'm going to put you on this, you should receive your period but just let me know if you don't." When she prescribed me the loestrin 24, she said to go straight to taking it right after my last few pills of lo loestrin fe just as if it was the same pill. She said that the pill was not very different except that it should give me my period. A week after I was on the new pill I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend. I know that I should be protected after 7 days of my birth control, so I guess my question is this: If the pill was not much different than my first brand was I ever unprotected during the switch? I know I waited the 7 days so I should be safe, but I did not receive my period with this pill either...I heard this is common with Loestrin 24 (which is why I'm assuming my doctor said the "but just let me know if you don't..." After a month and a week of taking Loestrin 24 I lost my pack and I spotted 3 days afterwards.. still no actual period though. I think I might be just paranoid now, but I've been feeling like I could possibly be pregnant. Thoughts? Sorry there's so much going on in this post... I just really need to put my mind at ease.. Thanks! (Also, I know that my boyfriend and I should use protection other than birth control because of stds. He's the only person I've been with and yes I've been tested..so please don't include this in your answer thank you!)

Ive been ttc for roughly a year with no success I had health insurance through the company I was working for up until early December I recently moved and quit my job because my fiancée got a great opportunity for work somewhere else. So now that I have no insurance and its about that time I receive everything checked out because I have yet to receive pregnant im in a bind. I was wondering if instead of seeing a gynecologist I could just go to the hospital and receive checked out, would they run the tests and for me and tell me what the problem is and just bill me or would it be a waste of time?

Resolved Question: Does anyone else feel violated after going to the gynecologist?

I went to the gynecologist 2 days ago for the first time. I am 21 years old and a virgin. I have been holding my tears in for these past days because I feel so stupid because everyone lady goes through this. Why the hell do I feel so horrible. It was a female doctor also she creeped me out to start with and she didnt have a white coat on or anything she told me to put my legs up then she looked down there saying everything she was doing except for when she poked her finger and it hurt really bad she said its just the tip and then she put something in there idek what it was it was like a blue wire with something on the end of it. i tried to tell her i did not want this done but she still did it and said to just try it. Idk why the hell I agreed to that. i would not let her do the pelvic exam I just couldn't handle this. I'm 29 yrs old and married for 6 months. my last periods was on 1st Dec 2011. Checked home pregnancy test and it came back to be negative. Then on 14 th Jan 2012 i went to a gynecologist and she said that i dint receive periods because of polycyctic ovary after the scan and gave me Regestrone(for 3 days) to regularize my periods and Glycomet for PCO. Then too i dint receive the periods. i consulted another doctor and she asked me to wait for another 3 weeks and cease every the tablets. on 1st Feb 2012 i checked with the home pregnancy test and i got two pink lines of different shades. Many said its Positive. Is this positive result because of glycomet??? Am i really pregnant???

Open Question: 4 weeks and negative tests?

I have been having symptoms and a few faint positives. I went to my gynecologist the other day. She said my urine test was negative. I am going in tomorrow for fasting bloodwork. I am hoping for my positive in my blood. She told me we are going to start me on meds to help me conceive. But we are gonna wait to make sure im not pregnant. Has anyone had negatives at four weeks.

Open Question: Why is intercourse so painful for me?

I was molested as a little girl so I think it may be somewhat psychological, but I'm not sure. First of every, losing my virginity caused me so much pain that it took me almost five years being with the same man (my wonderful fiance) before I was finally able to go through with it. We went to a gynecologist, and she said there was nothing wrong with me. However she also seemed to be a bit of a quack as she also straight-up called me fat and told me I needed to lose weight before I even considered trying to have any kids (I was about ten pounds over my ideal weight for my height and build). She claimed that the reason behind my lack of a period (it's been three years) was because I had gained so much weight. I was, at the time, 5'3 and 140 pounds. So, we finally managed to "do the deed" a few months ago. We've had sex regularly since then (about two or three times a week) but it's excruciatingly painful for me every time, and even more painful if i don't orgasm beforehand. It's not for the lack of lubrication at every. I feel awful because my fiance doesn't ask for sex as often as he'd like, as he always feels like a jerk after because of how much it hurts me. And yes, I am fully aware I need to go to the doctor for this as soon as possible, so please don't give that as an answer. The only reason I haven't yet is because I'm waiting for my health insurance to kick in, which is going to take a couple of weeks. I'm just hoping someone can give me some insight here in the meantime.

Hello! I've posted this in another section so I'm posting it again. I really need help and I am asking for advice, personal experience, or some help. I really don't need an negativity or rude comments because its not necessary. I am 20 and I have never had sex. My boyfriend is 21 and he is a virgin too. We have been dating for 5 years now since high school but have known each other for about 8 years. I am terrified of sex and it is not something I am proud of. :( This may seem nice of juvenile and crazy because I am sure there is nothing to be scared about. I have always have problems with people looking at me or touching me down there. This every started when I was in elementary school. I had a UTI and long story short they restrained me, catheterized me and I just remember pain. I know that was not my vagina but I associate any touching or looking, back to that. I don't go to the gynecologist either because I am terrified it will hurt. I went two years ago and I couldn't even let her "take a peak." Ovarian and uterine cancer run in my family so I really need to go. I left the exam crying because I was so scared and having a panic attack. My boyfriend is very patient and willing to help me through this. I want to have sex with him, I am more than ready. I just don't know how to receive over this fear because I am terrified of the pain I will experience. We have tried before but I just have panic attacks and feel "pain." It is so embarrassing to go through this when there are little teenagers having sex with no problem. When I think of sex every I think of is pain and I have never been this scared for something in my life. I can't receive myself to relax and not have panic attacks. I can't cease myself from shaking or feeling nauseous when we try or when I go to the gynecologist. At this point, it is starting to receive to me and my self-esteem. I'm really nervous about going to the gynecologist and I think I have a yeast infection. What am I supposed to do to prepare for a gynecologist appointment? I just don't know how to receive over this fear because I am terrified of the pain I will experience. We have tried before but I just have panic attacks and feel "pain." It is so embarrassing to go through this when there are little teenagers having sex with no problem. When I think of sex every I think of is pain and I have never been this scared for something in my life. I can't receive myself to relax and not have panic attacks. I can't cease myself from shaking or feeling nauseous when we try or when I go to the gynecologist. At this point, it is starting to receive to me and my self-esteem. I would appreciate any nice and respectful comments and advice. Please don't be rude and don't tell me to wait til marriage that is not what I'm asking. Thank you :) Any advice on how to make "trying" easier or better? Any help to ease the pain?

Voting Question: I'am scared for my Pap Smear! Girls!!?

I heard they use a type of metal thing like a ice cream scooper? Or thats what my health teacher told me -__- And I'm still a virgin and I'm 15, so 3 years until I receive mine. But i'm planning to stay a virgin until I'm married... My sister, who is 22, said it was so bad, and she hasn't been back since she turned 18 :S I'M SCARED! I know its ages away, but does it hurt a lot if your a virgin? Annnd what should i expect? My general doctor is also a gynaecologist and he is a male, and I'm not comfortable with that, because i have known him every my life... Can i ask for a female?

Open Question: Cervix appearance while pregnant?

I'm 14 weeks pregnant and had a pap smear today. The gynecologist said I had what looked like warts on my cervix? Is this possible when my current sexual partner was a virgin who didn't even have oral sex and my last sexual partner was 3 years ago? My current partner has never had anything like warts on his parts and I have never ever had anything like warts on my parts. Wouldn't my current partner have gotten them from me if I had them? Is it possible for warts to only be on the cervix? Could I maybe have cysts? Or could it just be that its looking weird because I am pregnant? I've also been having some clots and bleeding since my 12th week that the gyn said could very well be from my cervix and then she mentioned the wart thing.. I'm stressing out now for the results of the pap & hoping I don't have HPV..

Open Question: Will the doctors tell my parents i'm not a virgin?

I'm going in about 2 weeks to try and receive birth control. Will i have to go to the gynecologist? The birth control is for my period, and hormonal imbalances, not for sex. My mom has this sick obsession with sex because she got pregnant when she was young. She thinks i have sex every the time, and i dont tell her. I'm in a relationship currently that has lasted for years... so she automatically assumes i have lost it to him, but i didnt. I was raped by my ex a while ago, and i told her that and she didnt believe me... she thought i was making it up, but whatever. If i go to the doctors and ask for birth control will they tell my mom im not a virgin, or what? Because she wont believe me if i say i got raped, and that how i lost my virginity. She'll automatically assume my current boyfriend did it. She might even try and break us up, which would steer me crazy after every this time. And yes, i have gotten STD and pregnancy testing when i was raped and i'm healthy as a horse :)

Resolved Question: Really heavy periods, and horrible pain in left ovary area?

Well I started when I was 13 (i'm turning 17) and it has always been really heavy. It lasts for about 6-7 days at the most, but the second and third day are horrible; I go through a super in less then 60min. The first day is normal and the next three days are just really heavy to where I've worn a super, a pad, and toilet paper underneath to bed and I woke up to bleeding through my pants. I know it's extremely heavy so I want to go to a gynecologist, but I don't feel comfortable with taking birth control to be honest. I've heard of herbal remedies that work too, but do they? Also, about a year ago I was trying to snooze and I had this excruciating pain right where my left ovary was and I was paralyzed to where I could barely breathe, and then it just stopped. I haven't had that happen again but I've read other women having that happen and it being a cyst? What do you think that was? Anyway, I know it's full of questions but thank you

Voting Question: First time gynecologist visit?

I'm going to the gynecologist for the first time on the 13th. I have no idea what to expect. I'm 16, and I'm going to extremely heavy and gradually worsening periods over time and terrible cramping. Will they give me birth control for that? Also, I want to be completely honest with them. I'm sexually active with my boyfriend, and I want to tell them that. The thing is, my parents don't know and I don't want them to know. If I tell the gynecologist about this, is it legal that they tell my parents? My mom's a nurse, so she's really good at talking doctors into telling her things she isn't permitted to know but wants to know. Also, is it okay that I go while I'm on my period? My schedule is limited as to when I can go, and I need to go as soon as possible, which is the 13, but I'll be on my period then. Will that change anything? I just need to know what to expect and what they're going to do. PLEASE help. I'm scared. :( I have no idea who the gyno will be or what the office is called. I'll casually bring it up tomorrow with my mom to look who it will be. ALSO, are parents required to stay in the room?

Is it serious? I have never had sexual intercourse,is it infection or allergy,or? I'm 16,i do masturbate rarely. My vagina is a bit red,and i dont often wear cotton underwear. on the sides of vulva,there is something like white discharge and i removed a bit and it was red,and it hurts if i touch it,it doesn't hurt though if I don't. Voting Question: Do I have abnormal vaginal discharge? If so, what could I have?

So I've been having this vaginal discharge for a few years, I'm pretty young and when I was little I was told that it was normal and not to worry about it. But then, I looked it up and I saw that this was abnormal. My vaginal discharge is like mucus-like but it dries yellow. It has no odor to it either. And it's usually thick and comes out like once a day-ish? I looked up the symptoms of a yeast infection and I barely match any of them aside from the mucus-y color of the discharge. I'm not sexually active either. So what could this be? Should I be concerned or is there any way I can receive rid of this WITHOUT having to go to the gynecologist. I honestly don't want to go because I feel uncomfortable with someone looking at my vagina. :c Thanks guys. c: I mean, eventually, I'll go to the doctor but not right now. My mom doesn't even think I'm ready but if this poses to be a problem I'll bring it up to her to go. But so far I'm supposing it's normal.
